Kundalini Yoga with Malizah (Every Tues & Thurs, 7:30pm – 9:30pm)

The postures and movements in the many thousands of yoga sets, or kriyas, as they are known, are practiced so that they focus on specific ailments, needs, or even chakras - strengthening and toning, in the process, different parts of the physical body effectively, quickly and with real results. These many different kriyas are designed to stimulate the nervous system and the lymphatic system, accelerating the body’s  ability to heal itself and detoxify , or etherically speaking, magnifying one’s electromagnetic field/aura and uplifting the vibrational frequency of a person quickly, powerfully but safely according to the needs of the individual.

Through the practice of Kundalini Yoga, we stimulate and release the unused dormant kundalini energy at the base of our spine and allow it (it is never forced) to rise up the central column of the spine until it reaches the top of the skull, activating the secretion of the pineal gland. This brings about a major change of consciousness. When this energy returns down the right and left hemispheres of the brain and activates and balances the various energy centers, there is a major change in the person’s life. Although there are cases of the kundalini rising spontaneously, without purposeful spiritual practice, your reservoir of kundalini energy remains dormant throughout your entire life. It is like having a racing car and never getting out of first gear!

According to the Yoga Sutras, what you can achieve with 12 years of Hatha Yoga, plus 6 years of Raja Yoga, plus 3 years of Mantra Yoga, plus 1 year of Laya Yoga can be accomplished in a single year of a perfectly practised Kundalini Yoga

You do not have to charge in with the intention of raising the Kundalini to full enlightenment, although this is the goal of all forms of yoga. There is a more acceptable and gentle way of introducing you to the sheer potential that is within you and showing you how this potential can be released. Every time you embark on a kundalini kriya, the general pattern of a kundalini kriya is to awaken and build up the pranic energy. This is then guided to the relevant area that you wish to work on. For example, if your digestive system needs working on, a kriya to help with decision making or an emotional state that is upsetting you might be helpful. By directing the energy to a particular chakra, organ or issue in your life, this blockage will be dissolved and once again you will be back in balance.

There are over 8.4 million kriyas designed to deal with the day to day challenges we face today. Kriyas are a specific combination of asanas, pranayama, mantras, mudras, bandhas and meditation to achieve a specific result. They address all aspects of the Human Trinity.

For example, there are kriyas for the Mind

- to clear confusion

- to rid addictions

- to clear haunting thoughts and subconscious garbage

- to challenge the ego

- to conquer one's imagined disabilities

Physical Issues

- to improve blood circulation, develop a strong immune, glandular and nervous system - delaying the ageing process

- detoxification

- speeding up metabolism

- developing flexibility and strength

Emotions

-  to bring about feelings of ecstasy

-  to dispel fear, anger, paranoia

- to attain the empowering ability to accept and forgive all aspects of your life

-  creating Self Love

-  connecting to your Higher Self

Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan is an experience. There may be many words to explain the technology and effects behind each kriya, mantra and meditation; however, one is encouraged to engage in it to truly know and feel the calming, yet illuminating and rejuvenating benefits even after one class! Give yourself the gift of venturing within for more mental clarity and physical vitality that benefits your body, mind and soul.

About Malizah

malizah_profile.jpgMalizah started Kundalini Yoga, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, 4 years ago under the tutelage of the beautiful Prem Siri Kaur who studied under great Kundalini teachers such as Gurmukh in Los Angeles and Gurudharam from London. What started out as a way to keep fit and maintain peace of mind became a passion to master this ancient, yet scientific-based technology which is one of the world’s most powerful and rapidly transformational yoga.  For Malizah, many life-affirming habits miraculously replaced the old ones (such as smoking) and life became more stress-free and simplified. She later quit her job as a flight attendant and trained to become a teacher of this wonderful form of yoga.  She believes that the practices in your life can change the way you feel and act in the world and thus what you attract to your self.
